When the Open Publication window appears, make sure Practice Publisher Files appears in the Look in box.
Open up Tut1 -> we will be adding to this document, but I would like you to first re-save it as tut2.
CHANGE TEXT COLORS
Click the text box with the word Event title inside, The text should be highlighted. Change the Font colour to something that isn’t black. I chose a nice orange colour!
CHANGE BACKGROUND COLORS Click the text box with the title inside again. On the toolbar, click the fill colour icon (looks like a bucket spilling) When the menu appears, click More Fill Colors.
When the Colors window appears, click the black colour swatch. The background color of the text box should be black now!
CHANGE COLOR SCHEME On the Menu Bar, click Format, then Color Schemes. The Color Schemes panel should appear: Scroll down the list and click Teal.
INSERT TEXT BOXES On the Menu Bar, click Insert, then Text Box.
Move the cursor into the body of the flyer.
The cursor will change to crosshairs:
Move the cursor below ‘Contact person'
Click the mouse button and keep it held down. This will anchor the upper left corner of the new text box.
Drag the crosshairs down and to the right until you hit the teal line., and release the mouse button to finish drawing the box.
The box is now ready for you to enter text.
Click in the new text box and type:
An exciting Event!
Bold the text. Click outside the text box to deselect it. The flyer should look like this:
INSERT PAGES
On the Menu Bar, click Insert, then Page. When the Insert Page window appears, click the Create one text box on each page radio button. Click the ok button. A new page is added to the flyer, and a second page icon appears on the Status Bar: FLOW TEXT TO OTHER BOXES
Click the 1 icon on the Status Bar, This returns you to page one of the flyer. Click the ‘Highlights’ box on page 1.
Delete the entire box, and create a new one with a bulleted list that says
Highlights of the day Free Food! Entertainment! Bring your friends Notice the A… icon at the bottom of the text box: TIP:If the icon doesn't appear at the bottom of the text box, click and drag the text box outline up until it does show. Click the link icon (looks like an infinity sign) icon.
The cursor should change to a pitcher: Click the icon on the Status Bar to move to the second page. Click the text box. The overflow text from the text box on page 1 flows into the text box on page 2:
CHANGE FONTS Click the icon. On the first page of the flyer, triple-click in the " An Exciting Event" text box. The text should be selected:
On the Menu Bar, click Format, then Font.
When the Font window appears, click the drop-down arrow in the Font box. Scroll up or down in the list to Brush Script, then click it. Click the Size drop-down arrow, then click 18.
ALIGN TEXT (same as word) click ‘Event Title, change the words to ‘Presentations’ and center the text.
INSERT GRAPHICS
On the Menu Bar, click Insert, then Picture, then Clip Art.
Type in Teacher for the search. A black and red apple and books picture comes up, Insert it.
RESIZE GRAPHICS Click on the picture of the sky, and delete it. Move the picture of the apple over, and resize it so it fills the gap. ADD PAGE NUMBERS
On the Menu Bar, click Insert, then Page Numbers.
When the Page Numbers window appears, click the Position drop-down arrow.
In the list that appears, click Bottom of page (Footer).
In the Alignment list, click the drop-down arrow, then Center.
Save the flyer, (make sure its tut2) then close Publisher.
In the Menu Bar, click File, then Open.
